Kaleidoscope has several primary methods of raising money.

Kaleidoscope Theatre is a community theatre - but what does that really mean? It means the people at Kaleidoscope are from the local community - we accept anyone who wishes to volunteer, we have open auditions for each show, and we rely on the community for our financial support through ticket sales, donations, memberships and partnerships.

Running a theatre is an very expensive proposition. While our income from ticket sales pretty much covers our day-to-day expenses, we can only save a small amount. We do like to improve things with our savings, though. Things that make our presentations better (like our new sound equipment and lights), and some things that will make your theatre going experience more enjoyable (like paving, or at least graveling, our parking lot). In order to do these things, we rely on the extra generosity of our loyal audience members.

Our ticket sales and memberships cover our normal operating expenses, and we rely on donations and partnerships to allow us to improve our performance capabilities, our facilities, and our patrons' theatre-going experience. Partnerships also provide the funding required for our educational outreach program and a significant amount of our advertising. Additional partnership support will also allow us to open our play selections to shows more challenging in both content and technical requirements.

A couple of additional points you may be interested in: everyone involved with Kaleidoscope Theatre is a volunteer, so all your money is used directly to improve the theatre experience; and we are a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, so all donations are tax-deductible.

We would like to form partnerships with individuals, organizations, foundations and corporations which are committed to enhancing this region's quality of life

That's all nice to know, but you are probably wondering why you should become a Kaleidoscope Theatre Community Partner.

There are many reasons you should invest in Kaleidoscope Theatre. The community benefits ... which means you benefit indirectly.

Your investment:

  • makes Bay County a more desirable place for companies to locate, improving business opportunities for your company,
  • attracts high-quality employees to the area, increasing the quality of your work force
  • improves the education of area students and residents, especially increasing knowledge of culture and social issues, understanding and appreciation of diversity - all of which leads to better people and a better work force
  • provides cultural enrichment of the entire community through attendance at performances and through participation in the creative process

Your organization benefits directly. Your organization:

  • achieves corporate visibility (2350 potential audience viewers per show, typically 1700 web site hits/month)
  • receives free tickets for entertaining your employees, clients, associates or friends
  • receives other benefits depending on the partnership level selected
  • receives tax benefits for your contributions

In sponsoring Kaleidoscope Theatre, you take center stage with one of the finest theatrical institutions in the county, a local theatre that has been recognized for the quality of its performances.

Your support provides economic growth, educational excellence and cultural enrichment for the entire community - in short, it makes a significant contribution to a better quality of life. You can make a major difference in Bay County's oldest theatrical troupe (our first season was in 1971!) by becoming a partner with us today.

We already support the Bay Arts Alliance, why do we need to support Kaleidoscope Theatre also?

While we are members of the Bay Arts Alliance, they do not contribute directly to our organization. The Bay Arts Alliance is a local arts agency which supports local arts organizations through coordination of efforts and presentation of seminars, as well as generally promoting the arts.  You can learn more about the Bay Arts Alliance by visiting their web site, www.bayarts.org. So while the Bay Arts Alliance is a valuable organization and worthy of your support, they do not support us financially.

Now that you are ready to become a Community Partner, here are the levels available, and the direct benefits you will receive. If you have any questions or would like to talk to someone about this, please send an email to our President.

All levels of support are greatly appreciated!
