Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse presented this show at the
Fulton Theatre in New York on Aug. 18, 1941.
Synopsis:
Two spinster sisters oversee a most unconventional household.
Admired by the town folk for their generosity and compassion,
the pair serves elderberry wine laced with arsenic to lonely
old men. A brother who believes he is Teddy Roosevelt lives upstairs.
Another brother who has led a life of crime and undergone botched
plastic surgery has returned to terrorize the family. The frantic
younger brother must juggle the antics of his bizarre family
while courting the girl next door.
