The Farnsdale Avenue Housing Estate Townswoman's Guild Dramatic Society's Production of Macbeth was first presented on August 23, 1976 at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. It was revised and presented again at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe on August 22, 1983.
Synopsis:
It's opening night for an ambitious, if ill-advised, all-female production of Macbeth. But Lady Macbeth caught the wrong bus and is lost. She is replaced by the (male) stage manager, for the show must go on. It really oughtn't go on, though, for one mishap after another befalls the production. What the Farnsdale Society does to one of Shakespeare's greatest tragedies is turn it into one of the most side-slitting farces in modern theater.
