Dinner With Friends

by Donald Margulies

Dinner With Friends was commisioned by Actors Theatre of Louisville and had its world premiere at the Humana Festival of New American Plays in March 1998. A revised version was presented by South Coast Repertory in Costa Mesa, California, in October 1998. Dinner With Friends was further revised, into its current form, and presented at the Stanford (Connecticut) Center for the Arts in October, 1999. The play had its New York City premiere at the Variety Arts Theatre on November 4, 1999.

This play explores the kaleidoscope of changing relationships with two couples, whose friendship frames their marriages. A glimpse of every relationship flickers through their revealing dinner meetings.

David Garcia intended to direct this show, but due to unforseen circumstances, Charles Wilson directed.
