When Kaleidoscope Theatre built our current performance facility in 1990, we rescued many seats from the old Martin Theatre, which was renovated in that same time period. There was a significant cost to get these seats re-finished and re-upholstered, on the order of $15,000!
To help offset that cost, we offered seat sponsorships for $250, and many of our faithful supporters participated. Each seat sponsor got to chose a seat in the auditorium and we placed a small plaque on the back of it to let people know who our supporters are. (This does not mean
you always get to sit there, although you may certainly request
that seat when making reservations!)
Here is a list of these wonderful people. If you look closely you will see a lot of very familiar names!
And just so you know - we do still accept seat sponsors, and there are quite a lot of seats out there in need of them!
