Barbara McMinis | Board Member
Barbara has been involved with theatre for most of her life. Her first brush with Kaleidoscope was 1972 when she played Lucy in You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown out at the (then) Panama City Beach Civic Center for Kaleidoscope. She’s been involved with KT through the years (Vickie in Noises Off, Meg in Crimes of the Heart, Babe in Pajama Game – to name a few) and was President of Kaleidoscope in 1990 when she was offered a paying job at the Martin Theatre. Barbara helped design the (then) new theatre, concentrating on the technical issues. She free lanced lighting and set design during most of the 80’s and during her years at the Martin, she oversaw the loading in of the Martin, the building of the Greenroom, and the building and equipping of the shop extension. She has 32 years of Arts Administration experience and in that time has produced hundreds of plays, directing, acting, designing sets and lighting
for a large majority of them.
Oh, and she’s married to Larry McMinis, the most patient husband that you will probably never meet, has two incredible kids (incredible in that they have given her four of the most extraordinary grandchildren ever) and lives in Lynn Haven with hubby and their faithful hounddog Barklee.
